Wealth Advisor
Stephen Herrington brings a rare “triple threat” of experience, credentials, and true client advocacy to Nova Wealth Management, blending rigorous investment analysis, holistic planning, and proactive client service shaped by both institutional experience and a passion for personalized advice.
Stephen holds an MBA from Florida Gulf Coast University and a BA in Marketing from Jacksonville University, as well as both the Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) and Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) designations. Before joining Nova in 2025, he guided clients through pivotal financial transitions at large institutions, including Wells Fargo, Regions Bank, and Fifth Third Bank. There, he managed hundreds of client relationships, but found that the traditional model left little time for meaningful, proactive planning—an experience that shaped his conviction that authentic wealth management is only possible with true independence and a tightly managed client roster.
At Nova, Stephen works with a select number of households to ensure every strategy receives the attention, customization, and analytical rigor it deserves. He leverages Nova’s fee-only, fully independent platform not to push prepackaged products, but to scour the global investment landscape for the absolute best fit for each client’s goals. His CFA® background means he knows how the “paint is made”; his CFP® is used to create the masterpiece—melding technical insight with practical application.
Stephen specializes in tax-smart retirement income planning, asset location optimization, multi-state tax strategies, and advanced portfolio design—including alternatives and structured solutions for high-net-worth families in Florida and Texas. His approach is always proactive: designing years-ahead plans to minimize RMD tax bites, maximize legacy, and ensure portfolios are well-coordinated with both market conditions and life events (like major windfalls or legacy transitions). He believes legacy planning should include meeting the whole family—not just the clients—so next generations are prepared, informed, and connected before the time comes.
Stephen’s commitment doesn’t stop with strategy—it’s about relationships. “You are never just a number,” he says. “Limiting my client base allows me to deliver the kind of hands-on, forward-thinking guidance I wish every family could experience, and to be the advisor who spots blind spots and advocates for you and your legacy, not for an institution.”
Outside the office, Stephen finds purpose and joy in his family—his wife and son are his top priority. Together, they enjoy the wide outdoors on their family property, caring for their flock of chickens, ducks, and geese, appreciating every moment that life’s journey brings.

Take the First Step

**Where were you on September 11, 2001?**

For so many of us, the answer comes immediately.

We asked members of our Nova team to share their memories of that morning—a day that changed our country and so many lives forever.

Today, we remember those we lost. We honor the first responders and service members who answered the call. And we keep their families in our thoughts.

**We will never forget.**

When should you claim Social Security?

There isn’t one age that works for everyone.

Your decision may depend on:

💵 Cash flow
📊 Portfolio withdrawals
❤️ Health & longevity
👫 Spousal considerations
🧾 Taxes
🏦 Other retirement income

Waiting may produce a larger monthly benefit.

Claiming sooner provides income earlier.

But the question isn’t simply:

“Which age gives me the biggest check?”

It’s:

“Which age best fits my retirement plan?”
